Habitat of Collection:  My carpet in the living room  :-)
Location:  San Carlos, CA USA. (South of San Francisco)
Length:  Looks to be rather large at a little over 1.5 cm long.  The gaster is about 5 or 6 mm long.
Coloration:  The head and thorax are darker with gaster being a lighter brown/honey color with dark rings around it.  The body is shiny, not matte
Other Characteristics:  
    - It has some hair on it.
    - Its has one petiole node
    - Maybe 10 or 11 segments passed the elbow bend

 

Besides what it is, wondering if its a queen or not.

She's a queen. Wondering if she is a leftover survivor from an earlier flight, or if she just flew. 

 

Most likely C. semitestaceus or C. vicinus. Don't think she is C. sansabeanus judging by the bicolor coloration of her thorax in the third image. 

 

Give her some honey or nectar!

I cropped these for a better view.  I think you are right on the C. semitestaceus or C. vicinus.  They look almost the same to me.... googling each, she seems to look more like the semitestaceus that are shown. 

 

 

 

Also, gave her a little honey on wax paper.
