But she seems be fine the next day.

After closer observation, the queen's back legs were having seizures and unable to move properly.

The queen was definitely unwell, but somehow she managed to survive this long. She was surrounded by her loyal offsprings and this is like they are actually mourning for her.

Anyways, I had relocated this colony outside. A cover was put on to protect the nest from the sun.

Well, this colony is still surviving. I am amazed as the temperature in Sydney has got up to 50°C! I am more surprised that the queen is still kicking. I guess I will leave them alone for the time being.

They do not have much brood probably because:

 

1. now it is winter - spring and the temp is 9-16 celcius

2. i have a little difficulty finding food, mostly fed are large pre-crushed spiders

3. They have about 50 workers but are still in a test tube

I see, wait till warm weather. If you just give them honey throughout winter time, they should be fine.
