I'm using the original all acrylic version of the nest with one of my Melophorus

It's no different to a test tube, except it's flat, so placing food into the foraging area is easy with the flip lid.

And water can re refilled easily by squirting water onto the sponge and test tube. Which they must drink from as well, as I have not given them any direct water

Any leaks evaporate fast, had no mold issues, no condensation as there is good air flow.

Water in test tube last about 1.5 weeks.

Had them in there for a few months now, no need to move them out due to mold or water running low like in a regular test tube.

It's bulky though compared to a test tube and visibility is not as good

Nice, can one of you link those? Are they on Aliexpress? I'll order some and test.

I wanted to order them myself so I found them on aliexpress, but they are out of my price range ( 15$ for starting formicarium + shipping, naye )

The all acrylic ones are indeed around 5$ cheaper per piece. I wonder how hard it would be to fill them up with something like plaster or grout/concrete...

Not hard, since it comes apart with the screws, but the design is different

I personally would never use acrylic nests as of now.  Just my preferance though.

So does this have a water tower in it for hydration?
