Hello,

I am new to anting and I believe I have found my first queen. I am 95% sure that it is a queen ant and even if it isn't I would like to know what species it is because it is so different from other ants in the area which gives me the suspicion its a queen. I found her on 9/3/18 (Labor day) in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey while mowing my lawn.

You are in the correct thread, but you are missing the pinned topic at the top of the thread.  Read that and use it for future ID requests.  It shows you how to post a useful ID request.
