What do you mean by "malleable?"
Grout and hydrostone can be shaped, or molded into a preferred shape, but it's not what I would call malleable. Most good formicaria building materials aren't malleable, you usually have to mold them or drill/carve out pieces.
I don't believe there's like playdough for formicaries.

Yes, malleable makes it sound like you want something dough like, if that is the case then I would have to think only clay would be suitable but it would have to be fired or it will soften when moist.What do you mean by "malleable?"

i use plaster mixed with sand and portland cement
