Easy way to get termites

I saw a video of someone placing wooden slabs against a termite nest.
After a few days the underside of the wood is covered in termites, like over a 1000.
He collects the wood to feed his finches
So yeah, if you can have easy access to a termite nest, much easier to do this as a feeder than trying to raise your own colony

I know people make traps with moist cardboard as well.

David Mora del Pozo has a youtube channel with some good termite capture videos from 6 years ago. It's in spanish but the videos speak for themselves. Here's a good cardboard based trap video.

That method would work in my area, as they all seem to be undergound
I might try it next week.
Will need to bring a small gardening hand shovel
