Hey there fellow Ant Keepers!

We (my son and myself) are ant keepers for quite a while now as this hobby just never gets boring!

At the moment we have around 15 smaller colonies (L. niger, L. flavus, C. herculeanis, C. ligniperdus and some more).

Over the past few month we created a modular ant farm kit with some witty elements using our 3D printer to add some individualism to ant keeping.

Some examples:

If you're interested, head over to https://www.etsy.com...rmicaAntFarmKit and take a look at our creations!

Best,

Thomas.

Love this.  I have been kicking around the idea of adding scenes like that to out worlds for awhile but yours blow my vision out of the water!  Keep it up.

Very nice, you've gone all out!
They look practical too.
One question though, aren't you breaking some copyright laws?

You mean the Tatooine deco stuff? that's for personal use only. Not for sale.

I don't know what Tatooine is, but I meant the bust of The Rock, an Oscar statue and that sort of thing, other peoples images or designs etc. No skin off my nose, I think they're great, but no doubt you'd need permission to replicate an Oscar trophy or other copyrighted designs. I would have thought so anyway.
I know it sounds like I'm being negative, I'm not, I'm just curious :)

the oscars and busts are not for sale anymore. Only the small heads inside the ant arena. But that's satirical/art and thus protected by the First Amendment as free speech ... sort of...  :)

Actually it's the fair usage clause that allows you to use copyrighted material, usually for education or discussion but satire is an allowed usage too, I wasn't thinking along those lines looking at your formicariums. :) I was thinking more along the lines of the makers of The Hangover getting sued for using Mike Tysons' tattoo, the Copyright belonged to the tattoo artist not Mike Tyson so they got sued. You don't want The Rock after you!!! Lol :)

Just ordered one of the small 2-piece kits along with a feeder and some test tube ends the other day, looking forward to checking it out soon.
