how to get rid of large colony quickly

i have a large colony of ants i want to get rid of 

 

some options I've been looking at:

poison

dumping their dirt in my backyard

And if that doesn't work, just put them in a freezer.  They'll die overnight.

Yeah, usually ants (for me) die in an hour in the freezer.

You live in Canada, wait till winter, and leave the container [make sure it's escape proof] and leave it outside should kill them in a few nights of -10c [Usually happens for me Around October/November] if you still can't find Freezer space or someone to take them.

Ya, just drown them if you don't want to release them.


I accidentally froze all my ants

boilng water is pretty fast....

Current ant colonies -
1) Opisthopsis Rufithorax (strobe ant), Melophorus sp2. black and orange, Pheidole species, Pheidole antipodum

If there’s only one real opening for airflow, covering it up and freezing the colony would die due to lack of oxygen
