i live in a small town in Tennessee and I can not find Prenolipis imparis to save my life...I really want that species!!!
They may simply not be native in your area.
I cannot seem to find Prenelopis queens either, even though their colonies are abundant around my apartment.

On one of the first days of the year that reaches temps of 70 F or higher they fly.
We have them all over in the hills around here, but I can't seem to ever find any queens either.
I saw a P. imparis alate wandering around today. Only managed to catch the one (in Toronto, Ontario). If they've finally flow up here, elsewhere may be too late to find them.
