Drew's really outdone himself this time with the new starter Formicarium. I recently purchased I from him and it was a great experience. He answered all my questions and was very friendly! Formicarium came quick and well packaged. My new Crematogaster sp. colony absolutely ADORE it. Very good quality, can't beat the price. I LOVE it. Definitely gonna get more in the future. Recommend it to all ant keepers, young and old, experienced and inexperienced. Thank you Drew!

I just put mine on a heating pad, yes there are condensation issues. But the part that occasionally gets condensation can be removed and wiped down. I think your Pheidole would love these.

Wouldn't a pad just heat the water chamber up?

I thought maybe running a heat cable against the side of the top part, against the substrate could work

The best way to heat a colony is to put them in a small cabinet or enclosure of some sort, along with the heating cable so it heats the air inside. Doing it that way is a lot safer and more stable.

This is what I do. My Camponotus have done amazing with this. I recommend this more than a cable right up against the nest.

I just put all mine in 7mm Dirt Boxes. In the past I have used 4mm, but I've noticed the queen has a little trouble digging in them, so 7's might be better.

How much would a large ant box cost with wood instead of dirt in between the glass? I have a Liometopum Occidentale colony and I would like them to be able to have a formicarium just like the one you made for your Liometopum Occidentale colony a while back

I just caught 2 Pogonomyrmex Badius queens yesterday I got some questions: is the the dirt box right for me? I know Pogonomyrmex need dirt I got both in test tubes with dirt. Which dirt box should I buy? I have limited space in my room how big is the dirt box? I would very much appreciate size some comparisons thanks.
