Hey there! Where about in NJ are you located? I'm in the Monmouth/Ocean County area. I haven't found too many queens yet this year, so far I caught two Camponotus chromaiodes about a month ago, they have a nice little pile of eggs right now. I also caught a Prenolepis imparis back in February and she has two workers already.

Hey! I'm located in Burlington County. I only have one queen right now (formica subsericea w/ 5 workers). I'm trying to catch more but I just don't have the patience and keen eyesight. You already caught 3 queens!??? Nice!

Aphaenogaster colonies have alate pupae being sun-bathed under rocks in my woods, and I will expect their flights soon.

Hey all.. Just got back to Northern NJ(Morris County) after spending 3 months abroad. My 10 year son is desperately seeking to find some queen ants this year and so I am. So our search has begun!

I haven't found any more queens but my Camponotus chromaiodes queens from this year already have pupae which is exciting. I've been keeping an eye out everywhere and so far have only found Lasius social parasites this month.

A few months ago I caught a bunch of Camponotus queens like chromaiodes, pennsylvanicus, nearticus, and caryae and about a day ago I caught a Camponotus Pennsylvanicus while I was looking for Tetramorium

Saw a huge flight of Lasius interjectus in Monmouth County NJ on June 21st around 7 pm. Here's a link to the video I took of them flying: http://www.formicult...nuptial-flight/

Anyone know where I can find Lasius Neoniger ants here in NJ? I need a dozen or two for my Parasitic Lasius queen.

They will be flying later this month. Flights happen mid afternoon (around 4:00pm). Colonies are abundant in not so lush lawn settings with full sun exposure. Sandy soil is favored to clay.
