I have never seen anything like this. If anyone knows please let me know.

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Rochester, New York
2. Date of collection: 7:45 PM August 4, 2018
3. Habitat of collection: Under an oak tree in some leaves/sticks.
4. Length (from head to gaster): 8 mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Orange
6. Distinguishing characteristics: N/A
7. Distinguishing behavior: Klutzy. Gets stuck on cotton easily and has bad grip. Slips on glass and acrylic.
8. Nest description: N/A
9. Nuptial flight time and date: N/A

Be careful with these queens, as you said they get stuck on cotton very easily and can die from that. I have been unlucky with them recently. You would probably want a formicarium or substrate in a test tube setup if you want to raise them at all.

Yeah, I put her in a normal test tube setup but she kept getting caught so I moved her into an acrylic founding formicarium. She was lying on her back within hours. I let her go knowing that she would die in captivity.
