So I've been wanting to make a bead container style formicarium for some of my species which prefer higher humidity, but most of the containers out there are huge. The smaller ones are generally either a weird shape, or have larger sections than I'm really comfortable with. Has anyone ever tried taking a container similar to this and dividing it up into four sections, each for a different colony? I haven't found anything like this attempted for colonies older than founding stage, and even those were a little lacking in followup details.

Even if it's sealed with silicone, I wonder if pheromones would find some way through and rile up the neighbors.

I've thought about similar formicariums for founding queens, but I keep getting deterred by the idea of not having individual access to each queen. I'm not too hopeful either because any vibrations or movements to one compartment would still disturb the others. And any clean up would be a pain as well. I'm interested to see how it goes though, if you do end up going that route.
