1. Location (on a map) of collection:
California, City of Concord, next to Newhall Park.
2. Date of collection:
7-6-18 and second flight 7-23-18
3. Habitat of collection:
Small patches of dense Oak trees, surrounded by open grass lands
4. Length (from head to gaster):
5mm, most of length seems to come from the gaster
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture:
Most come in a pale yellow but range up to a dark brown to black. No real patter to note but text seems smooth and shiny.
6. Distinguishing characteristics:
long and slender gaster
7. Distinguishing behavior:
Timid, don't seem to run or pull at cotton.
8. Nest description:
I have seen them both in the trees for the darker colored ones and in cracks on the ground for the pale yellow ones with no ant hill to distinguish the entrance.
9. Nuptial flight time and date:
7-6-18 and 7-23-18, both were around 2100 hours and 2230 hours and only lasted maybe 30 minutes before they were hard to find. Hot dry night at about 85 degrees

Black with pale gray, seems to have black bands on the gaster with pale grey in between. Smooth and shiny
6. Distinguishing characteristics:
large round gaster and appears to have a stinger.
7. Distinguishing behavior:
Runs quickly and did appear to try and sting me upon capture.

unknown
9. Nuptial flight time and date:
7-23-18, 2100 hours and only lasted maybe 30 minutes before they were hard to find. Hot dry night at about 85 degrees
