1. Location of collection: Simi Valley, CA
2. Date of collection: 2/6/2015
3. Habitat of collection: Scrub, Foothills.
4. Length (from head to gaster): ~6.25 mm.
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Red head and thorax, black gaster. Kind of velvety.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: ---
7. Anything else distinctive: ---
8. Nest description: Normal Dorymyrmex shaped founding chamber.

Sure looks like the Dorymyrmex bicolor queens I've found. However, I have seen Forelius pruinosus/mccooki queens look quite a bit similar too (depending on region). I'd say it was more Dorymyrmex bicolor, though.
