Found her in my back yard on 7/2/2018. in the 5-6mm range, Dark red head thorax and legs. Abdomen is dark not seeming to have any red. There is one Petiole on the waist.
I can try to take a few more pix if that would help.

I would say Formica pallidefulva. Are you sure that is 5-6mm?

I would say Formica pallidefulva. Are you sure that is 5-6mm?

Definitely a Formica species. I would agree with AntsAreUs on Formica pallidefulva.
