1. Location (on a map) of collection: Cape San Blas, Florida
2. Date of collection: 06/29/2018
3. Habitat of collection: Beach (about 100 yards from water)
4. Length (from head to gaster): 9.5-10 millimeters
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Black, bands on gaster and shiny
6. Distinguishing characteristics: One ring of golden hair on gaster, long legs
7. Distinguishing behavior: INCREDIBLY fast, skittish
8. Nest description:
9. Nuptial flight time and date: 2-5 P.M., 06/29/2018
Sorry for the poor selection of images. She’s in a thick tube that is impossible to see through and she won’t sit on the side of the tube.

Is it maybe Formica? Possibly Fusca? I'm not so sure about the different types of Formica down south.

I thought Formica. But it seems to be much smaller than my Formica Subsericea queen. Anyone else have any input?

Formica Subsericea, you can tell because of the long antennae
