I used to have 2 Crematogaster colonies but 1 of them died, should I transfer the remaining workers to my other colony of Crematogaster? Maybe not because I don’t know if they are same species

From my limited understanding, workers won't join and will fight the other colony to the death, but if there is any brood the other colony will accept those.

If you keep them separate for at least a week, the colony scent of the queenless one should go down, and then you can try introduce them one or a few at a time.

 

It worked when introduced two nanitics and brood to another small Camoponotus suffus colony, but there was some minor aggressive behaviour.

That was small scale, may not work with more mature colonies

If so then it should work because the queenless ones have been sitting there for a month and they also suffered a huge nanitic die-off before the queen died so it should be fine. No brood I think. I’m more concerned about the species because I can’t tell if their same species

At least with Camponotus, I have seen other mix workers from different species, even radically different looking ones
