Location : Romania,Suceava

date of colection : 21.06.2018

habitat of colection : In the city, on a street

Length: 8-9 mm

Color : the head is black and around the mouth parts has a darker red, a thorax wich have a dark red color on the surface,red on the sides, legs brown-yellow, yellow-brown gaster

Distinguishing behavior : non observed

I am not too sure if this species is lasius emarginatus or lasius brunneus or another species

If you've enjoyed using my expertise and identifications, please do not create undue ecological risk by releasing your ants. The environment which we keep our pet insects is alien and oftentimes unsanitary, so ensure that wild populations stay safe by giving your ants the best care you can manage for the rest of their lives, as we must do with any other pet.

Exotic ants are for those who think that vibrant diversity is something you need to pay money to see. It is illegal to transport live ants across state lines.

I think you can see the hairs on the scapes in the second-to-last image, which would at least discount Lasius brunneus.

Exotic ants are for those who think that vibrant diversity is something you need to pay money to see. It is illegal to transport live ants across state lines.
