so I stumbled across "Ant Farms: Ultimate Formicarium Handbook" on Amazon. Seeing as it was published just this past March, I noticed it didn't have any reviews yet.

I was wondering if anyone here has already picked up a copy and would be willing to provide a review?

I am new to the hobby and am looking for an all encompassing - science behind, how to, and why - instructional on formicaria building. I've seen the generic how tos and what not on various sites - but I'd like to know/ learn more. I'm kind of hoping this $9, 176 page book really is what I'm looking for, but I'm a little apprehensive.

I saw that earlier this year.  I have a funny feeling someone took AntsCanada's book and plagiarized it, or he licensed it to an independent publisher to sell.

The table of content of both books look quite different and if someone writes a new book he/she will read a lot of other books in order to find the best structure. Even George RR Martin said that he was inspired by a lot of other books.

The book seems quite comprehensive with 173 pages. I don't know how many pages the AntCanada book has (why doesn't he write that on his page?), does it has more or less pages?

I guess what I was really looking for is a rating of the quality of its content from a knowledgeable source.

I would not recommend this book to anyone who has basic knowledge of ants and there care. This would be a decent book for all those kids who watched A. C. Videos and overnight want to have ants. Very basic info and nothing in depth.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of.

Would you happen to have any recommendations?

I noticed a couple of errors and gross generalizations in it as well. although I've only read a bit, I can't really recommend it.
