what is the best way to move ant colony out of a dirt fourmicarium

I have a bigger one i want to move them to how should i do it? i have abot 350 workers

dry it out the old nest, stop heating it, make it bright and connect to to a new nest that is hydrated, warm and dark. they should start moving once they realize the old nest sucks

This one is a tough one. I have heard stories of colonies. who died because they would not leave their dry dirt set up. for a non dirt set up. I suggest asking the big shots. I have no suggestions. Exempt to make the dirt set up really cold and the the new nest warm. Worst case find the queen and move her manually. The comony should follow her.

What species is it that you are trying to move. Sometimes manipulating their heat is a fool proof method, but it depends.


I accidentally froze all my ants
