Hello. I’m looking for help regarding my colony of Formica podzolica. (On my phone can’t italicize) Recently 2 of the 5 nanitics have died and what once was a colony that would freak out when their test tube was even tapped lightly is now a colony that’s really slow moving and unresponsive. I’m thinking of moving them into a new test tube to see if that helps. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing this? Thank you in advance.

Oftentimes a lack of sugar can cause lethargy and sometimes death in ants. Consider giving them a sugar source in generous amounts to help them out.

Gave them sugar. They still seem the same. Hopefully it changes by tomorrow. They’re kept in a room at 25C.
