I was just thinking how do new ant species come about? Can they mate with other species? I was just thinking it would be super cool if you could somehow find a mixture of ants. Anyhow how do new ant species come about.

Same how every other new species comes about.

Hybridization is usually detrimental to species (makes offspring sterile or unable to rear them in the first place) so they tend to avoid it (and sometimes weaponize it), nor does it necessarily lead to a new species.

Are there any ant species that have mutations that actually went well for them? As I know that most mutations have no effect but there atleast has to be one species that has acquired a mutation or two.

We should respect all forms of consciousness. The body is just a vessel, a mere hull.

I've always wondered how things like the shape of leaves evolved. I understand some have drainage for holes, but what's the difference between round and pinned oak leaves, for example.
