Ants from Hawaii ID

Best Answer Connectimyrmex , June 7 2018 - 12:53 PM

They are Brachymyrmex obscurior. In my experience, their queens are the most easy to collect in Hawaii, but their colonies are the most difficult to locate.

Plus, from what I remember, it is one of the only ants that I've ever seen in Honolulu aside from Paratrechina.

Here is my second ant. I found her on the concrete in my drive way.
Honolulu Hawaii
She is one dark brown color with no hairs from her body that I can see. Here are two rings around her abdomin. The difference in color of the picture is from led and white light. The led light she is black and white light she is dark brown.
Small ant about 4-6mm

I was thinking Lasius but I don't think that they are in Hawaii yet.
