Hi guys,

 

I found 7 males on tennis cort ( floor ) 1 hour ago.

 

I'm at holiday in Bodrum,

They have wings and totally red. Weather is sunny and temp 30 C.

Yeah, a male. The big eyes and straight forward antennae.

 

The overall body shape could easily be mistaken for a queen though. I am not sure what species that is. I normally can't tell by looking at males because they often look very different from workers and queens.

Yeah, i really love them. I wish that i will find Cataglyphis sp. queen on same place/tennis cort. i can find queens :)

Yep those are queens, they have smaller eyes and by the looks of it much more "Swollen" abdomen.

Great! Some Cataglyphis sp. are semi claustral so I recommend feeding her.

It's when a queen seals herself underground and raises her first workers. Semi claustral queens dig a founding chamber and come out in search for food.
