Definitely Linepithema humile, but is it a queen? Saw probably 10 of them running with the pack of a huge trail leading from my trashcan. Caught these before I killed the rest of them.

She is a queen. I think they are just super skinny, but wait for Dr. Trager's opinion.

That's what I thought. Do they bear queens directly to the colony? What happened to the whole wings and flying and ripping them off to start a new life concept??

No they just rejoin the colony. If you are planning on rearing her you will actually need some workers to go with her. Maybe there's not a lot of food and her gasters small? I usually see males with wings and the workers are carrying them around.

There's a few workers with them. The workers are useless though. I just put in some Green gel and most of the queens are eating while the workers are still trying to dig their way out.

You only need five workers to start off. They are always skinny like that btw. I've caught and executed many and they barely vary. Also they won't accept lots of meat without a liquid an hour before. I'm starting up a new journal because mine are actually doing better when fed termites.
