I had a small hornet nest on my porch that I had to remove. I was able to capture it in a jar. I put the jar in the freezer over night and dissected it tonight. I had a queen and 3 workers and some larva. I gave 4 of the larva to a couple of colonies and they LOVED it. I was wondering if anyone has given hornet pieces to there ants before and if they liked them.

I know there is some concern about pesticides with flying bugs. No need to tell me that six times.

Please let me know what your experiences with this are.

The larvae are very loved by my sntd. The workers, however are rather non-nutritious.

That poor nest, would have almost been perfect for relocation :boohoo:

but yes the larvae as well as any developing capped brood make good food. I don't think the adults are worth it though, too much exoskeleton.
