located in kalispell montana.
Caught may 18 2018.
Caught many of these queens in fallen dead trees and under rocks in wooded areas on small mountains.
Color is deep shiny black with faint golden stripes on abdomen.
Have found most queens nested just under the bark of fallen trees and some under rocks.
The nests is found were in dead fallen trees and under rocks, had major workers, all workers have a dark red colored mesosoma, have polygyne colonies.
These ants have had nuptial flights for about 2 weeks now, first one i saw was on about may 4th.

Camponotus modoc

Could be Camponotus pennsylvanicus. I forget how to tell the two apart.
