Hello,

I found this Formica sp. queen and was wondering if it might be parasitic and what species it is?

She was found in the Netherlands (in my own house) this week and she measures about 11 mm, she had no workers with her.

I took a few pictures and these were the best ones I could make: https://imgur.com/a/IDYWHnj

I hope you guys can figure out what it is.

Whatever species she is, she is definitely a social parasite. Luckily, Formica parasites are pretty easy. Just give her a few host pupae and she should be fine.
