I found several of these workers going back and forth across a dirt road.

Location: Northeastern michigan (lower penninsula) on a dirt road. It was a dry, open area. Lots of wintergreen plants and dried out/rotting logs. Few ferns. The forest line was a hundred yards away, which had a lot of oak trees, and other hardwoods.

Date caught: 5-16-18.

Length: 7mm

Coloration: reddish brown/rust colored.

I would like this to be Camponotus castaneus, but is more likely some sort of Formica sp. Anyways, these are the best pics I can get.
