Hello all tropical ant keepers. I am just getting to the point where i'm going to move my ants into a setup with an outword. but i'm starting to get concerned about the random lizards in south Florida. I didn't think about it much until last night when I went into my outside laundry room I mean Ant room ;) and found a large gecko in there. Now, I have make some preparations for this and have some "Butterfly net" fabric that I have glued onto my make shift outworlds (large Tupperware bins)

Anyways any thoughts would be appreciated.

Maybe find a way to make sure geckos don't go into your laundry room? (Instead of just your formicarium)

How many lizards are in your house so that they just "fall" into formicaria?

Keeping a lid on is the only the only thing I can think of. As far as securing the room, it’s not really an option. The roof isn’t exactly sealed to the walls. I think it might be something about hurricane proofing the building, but I don’t know.

It’s rare for a lizard to be in the house, but my ant room isn’t in the house. The ant room is attached to my porch, and there is a family of 20 or more geokos that live on the porch, and no way to keep it lizard proof

Lizards and geckos here normally have little interest in worker ants.

Otherwise just focus on securing the ants.

i might take a photo, but i promise you would be very underwhelmed. Just a laundry room attached to a porch.
