Yah, I said that I was going to a while back.

One thousand test tubes? Wow.

What is dirt cheap Miller? I feel like sometimes your idea of dirt cheap and my idea of dirt cheap are two completely different things. LOL.
$9.99 base price, with discounted quantity pricing. I may also have an early bird price right before the official launch, which is expected by the end of the month.

10 bucks isn't bad at all. I'd buy like 6 of them when they roll out. That's about all the room I have for ants anyway.

I mean compared to a dollar test tube...

Well I'd expect anything that's not a test tube to cost more than a test tube

Tubing is not a bad idea aside from it being curved and bendy.

I also want to note that PVC releases toxic fumes at around 100 F, and decomposes further at temperatures as low as 140 F.
While you're not likely to keep your ants in rooms that reach anywhere near those temperatures, some people commonly place heating pads or heated cables near their ants, which can easily reach these temperatures close to the heat source.

Meh, I think it's cute enough. I can deal at $10 per setup for a specialized founding setup. I imagine the visibility on it would be impeccable. Granted I would hope for it to be big enough to accommodate most species during the founding process. You might have your first early bird customer Miller.
Would it come with a mini outworld for semi-claustral species? <--- very important question.

Test tubes are not expensive. I do not recall, but I think 1000 glass test tubes are $80.
check this out, $2 for a two pack that's $1 a test tube....

Such a small amount is good for one who only wants one or two colonies, but you cannot beat the price/unit on 1000 tubes for $80.

Even cheaper! http://www.lcmlab.co..._p/41a23-w-.htm
That is also a smaller diameter than the standard size too.

Works for the largest and smallest ants for me.

I agree with Crystals on this one, universities/schools tend to buy them in large quantities, so they don't mind handing some over. I got a few hundred "used" test tubes from the lab technician at my school.
Current Species:
Camponotus fragilis
Novomessor cockerelli
Pogonomyrmex montanus
Pogonomyrmex rugosus
Manica bradleyi
