I just caught a portion of a migrating colony of T. sessile and would like some info on care.

Thanks!

They are somewhat difficult to keep. For whatever reason, my colonies would eat almost anything with gusto outside in the wild but when I caught them, they would eat only fruit flies, honey, and sugar water. They grow somewhat fast but whatch out, sicne they are escape artists. I had 2 colonies escape and they joined forces and began to creep into my other T. sessile nests and convince or force the worksrs to join them. They also ran into my other pet insects' enclosures and wreaked havoc. The colonies are very polygynous and can create huge nests. Overall, make sure you have a good barrier(talcum powder), an escape- proof setup, and a steady supply of fruit flies. If you're lucky they might accept other foods. Good luck!

Proverbs 6:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
    consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
    no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
    and gathers its food at harvest.
