Bought a cheap macro lense at walmart and wow it really improves the picture taking abilities of by terrible SG-J5.
I noticed in the ID threads I made the limiting factor was always the picture quality. I figured I would make this thread to confirm the IDs of my queens. They are all 7-8mm, were all found under rocks or logs in the middle of spring here in Ottawa On. Canada.
Lasius sp.
Found this one walking along the concrete today.
First Aphaenogaster picea
Found both these queens this spring which I thought was odd because I didn't know they overwintered before laying.
Second Aphaenogaster Picea
Stigmatomma pallipes
No idea If I have any queens here but they were all hiding behind that dirt so I couldn't get any good pictures. I found these under a rock and snatched up all 4 of them.
Lasius Flavus workers
I gave these workers to my Lasius claviger queen and they all seem to be getting along very well, I don't know if she has laid yet (that brood is from the host colony).
Lasius umbratus
