I posted this thread with good intentions, and the selective moderation in this community let it become what it is.

 

I wish the best for the ant keeping community, and I've shown that through my actions and my discourse. Letting one be slandered is the same as letting down the rest of the community.

 

I'm disappointed.

If you really want to know what the rest of the thread is about, it's a person that was banned for posting pornography in front of children and linking alt-right promotional videos. He's banned from most German speaking forums and the discord, so this is the last place he's got.

 

 

 

Hey everybody!

 

I just wanted to make mention of this because it's a big opportunity for the hobby but r/antkeeping was just selected as r/aww's subreddit of the week!

 

This means that for a week, r/aww will have r/antkeeping stickied at the top of their subreddit. They have 17 million subscribers and they have 25,000 visitors every 15 minutes.

 

This translates to about ~100 NEW people who are taking a look at the subreddit every 15 minutes to see if they might be interested in ant keeping.

A quick overview:

 

Reddit is a news aggregate, information from all over the place is posted by anybody who feels it's worth seeing by the wider community

Threads are sorted by votes as a function over time, which means if something is highly voted, it'll be seen by lots of people, but as the post ages, it falls further down the page

We actively advertise all ant keeping communities!

Reddit is NOT a replacement for formiculture and we direct people here as they ask all the time

The subreddit is just a place so that people don't have to check 20 different vendors to see if new things came up, subscribe to every youtube channel, trawl instagram, etc

 

Formiculture has a much greater wealth of knowledge and so many more experts so for people to get the best information they come here.

I'd really like it if the mods here could delete this specific reply and Barristan's replies in this thread as I didn't invite any of this and I'm still very excited for the opportunity this represents for the community.

 

 

As T.C. said, the discord and the reddit are different. I'm sorry that you don't care about the greater community, and it's strange to me that you don't try to bring this awfulness into formiculture, but since you keep claiming that you were unfairly banned, I am happy to explain why you were.

I must side with barristan just because I feel that he shouldn't have been banned for such a small act. This little video doesn't do much to the discord, and it seems they had other non-ant related videos on that same discord previously.

If you read the picture of why he was banned, It also said that barristan posted a picture of a person with their penis out in a chat full of kids and younger people. I think the ban was the right thing to do if this was the case. It even says in the rules of the discord that posting inappropriate photos like he did is against the rules. Anyways why would anyone want pictures of penises and inappropriate things in an antkeeping chat.

I think people are missing the point. It seems some people here just want to bicker and argue over crap.
This is an opportunity to grow the Antkeeping community and hobby, and show off not JUST the discord, but the community as a whole.

LoL, what a lie. I've never posted nude pictures there and I am also posting a lot of funny stuff here but also never nude stuff.

All my posts were done on the #offtopic channel and before my posts, a lot of political stuff was posted there too also from comedians etc. So please don't be liars and don't change the reasons why I was banned all the time lol.

Isn’t Barri breaking at least one of Formiculture’s rules? Maybe look at 4-6 and see if any of those seem to fit his behavior?

(Side note: really great how you mentioned how tolerant this forum is while being a very intolerant member of the forum at the same time)

You already said in the chat that "oh that was me", but even if you do try to do a 180, I posted an image to discord logs where we deleted your post. It's not allowed on the forums, because it's sexually profane, but the url is in the image. I already described what was in the image. Anyone determined enough can put the url into their web browser.

 

I did not do the posting, but you were also

 

1.posting "kekistan" videos and

2. videos from alt-right youtube groups

 

A quick google search will show you what you need to know about "kekistan"

 

 

so this more or less establishes two things then

 

1. He's peddling alt-right ideologies to children

 

2. He was trying to post pornographic images to children.

 

Which the discord doesn't allow.

I don't care what other stuff the YouTube-Channels do post, the stuff I posted wasn't racist at all.

Typical SJW behavior here. If someone has another opinion, silence him, try to ban him etc.

Maybe you should go back to your safespace called discord server where you are protected from evil people's opinions.
