Hey guys, I live the US and I'm interested in keeping l.flavus
I looked around in ant care sheets, preferred food, the journal section..and couldn't find much related to them specifically.
I was wondering if someone on here is keeping them successfully and maybe I missed a journal or post that might be helpful in keeping them long term?
Or if you're keeping them, maybe some websites you used, or other forums you're on with helpful information?
(I wasn't sure exactly where to post this and figured I would just reach out *feel free to move it for better results*)

Thanks.. I didn't realise l.niger care was basically the same.
Suppose that makes sense lol
I was hoping someone on here was keeping them as well though; their workers are tiny & a real pretty yellow imo and wanted to see some too.
Wondering how long others have waited for them to start laying .. *story of anting 101*

I'm keeping L. flavus (or similar, hard to tell without a microscope to ID.) As @chicken_eater100 said, pretty much the same as L. neoniger and such. I am on year 2 (captured the queen in Fall 2016). I lost one colony this season as the test tube flooded during hibernation and only the queen survived; being so small doesn't take long for catastrophe there. My current colony takes pretty much any sugar or protein foods my L. neoniger take.

Seems she likes prime rib. It's gonna be an expensive hobby if this bee'och wants me to keep these standards up

**sorry she's in a plastic tt(from my job, boss gave me a bunch) sorry for the scratches
and I know it looks pushed in on her, but she wanted nothing to do with the dry cotton and I didn't think she was getting to the food after her 1st week or so, so I pushed it in closer.
She likes it like that, what can I say
