The Camponotus flight in parts of BC Canada I have found this year have been delayed due to the extremely dry weather making it dark for queens to dig after flight. At two good locations here In Victoria I have only found signs of a few small flights. I expect larger flights this week after some significant rain this coming weekend.

Good to know. The one I got in early May was infertile. I'll be looking out for flights soon. Doesn't look like it is going to warm up and be sunny till Mon or Tues though.

Rainy and not much happening. Absolutely nothing in blacklight traps the last couple of nights. Wating for some heat. Loving the rain though. I will be posting some queens and colonies for sale soon.

According to WeatherAntTetramorium immigrans and Pheidole cf. californica flew in east Washington. Pheidole around 8PM on June 6th, 80-85F, T. immigrans the following morning at 6AM, 60F.

Unfortunately I'm not sure where but I'm guessing it was around Tri-Cities.

I'm seeing Tetramorium flights in Southern Oregon (near Medford).  At least one flight last week, and two this week so far.  Best time I've found for finding queens on a sidewalk is around 8-9a.  Much past noon, it gets really hot/dry, and I'm only finding dead/dried queens.

Last night was another "perfect" night for Tetramorium flights (hot and humid) based on the few I've seen so far, but no queens today.  I doubt that all the colonies have flown already, so something must have prevented them from flying.  It did rain late yesterday afternoon as well, so perhaps the excessive water was too much, and that prevented the flight.

Caught a Formica cf. neorufibarbis queen late at 8:20-30 about a week ago (June 17th). I also saw lots of Tetramorium Immigrans queens on June 18th and I saw a Camponotus herculeanus queen at 8:10-30 on June 19th (which surprised me as I thought they were done flying). I've been keeping track of all the queens I've seen/caught since the beginning of April so If you want my full list I could post it as well.

We found both Formica,  and several Tetramorium's  this week June 19th-21st /2018 in Victoria BC Canada. Tetramorium for sure are flying. I find in the afternoons but flights likely early. Still find the odd Camponotus and all seam to be fertile even ones with wings. Took the one with wings longer to lay though.

Camponotus Pennsylvanicus/Modus

Tetramorium sp. E

Formica Podzolica

Lasius Alienus

Lasius Niger

Formica Ravida

According to AntsBCFormica obscuripes are starting to fly. At least around the lower mainland and Vancouver Island. Minimum temperatures for flights seem to be around 16 - 18C, and sunny.
