You guys requested one of these, so here it is.
On a side note Prenolepis imparis should fly around Toronto on the 27th and 23rd

I'll keep my eye out regardless. I may be in Montreal the 28-29th so I'll keep an eye out there as well.
Thanks for the tip!
My online ant spreadsheet
Why specifically the 27th? Forecast shows 14C with 70% chance of rain. I thought they would have preferred to fly when its 19C and sunny on the 24th.
My forecast shows the other way around in Ottawa.

That's odd, I'm looking at the weather network website.

oh dang it actually got made XD
This website says that Prenolepis imparis are only widespread up to Toronto:

Hopefully that doesn't mean they aren't present here in Ottawa. Also I believe I read that they inhabit mostly Hardwood forests. That would be Ideal for me as my work is surrounded by it.

Don't take that last part as true, I barely remember that so there is a very high chance that I'm wrong.

Never heard of that. I've always seen tons of colonies here so I assumed that they would still be common even a bit up north. There are reports in Kingston and near Burlington, Vermont so I would assume they exist there. But seeing how they aren't listed in Quebec you may be correct.
Well I'm really hoping they do fly as I've been waiting for all the snow/ice to melt and it's really had me excited for nuptial season, Camponotus will hopefully fly sometime in April but if not at least early May.
I'm here to learn, mostly.

Impossible. Last 2 years they flew late May and June and those were warmer than this year.
Forgive me for that, I just joined the hobby in mid July so I'm not really familiar with the schedules for earlier flying nuptials, I hope to get some Camponotus regardless of when they fly. Thanks for the info regardless

There's a small chance that P imparis may be flying in some areas of Toronto today.
Many workers of other species are becoming active as well.
On a side note, I found a Myrmica sp and a Formica sp queen today.
Yep, the Formica in my yard is active as well I didn't really see anything else because I wasn't really paying attention to the ground since I was biking.

i found absolutely nothing in Mississauga for like an hour of searching XD

I mean was the area you were searching like? You mentioned you were surrounded by buildings, that may impact the kinds of species you can find.
