Hi guys,
I'm wondering how ants work with their food, I understand scouts(worker ants with the job of scouting at that specific time) go out to find food, once they find food they return it to the nest(walking a straightish path?) while letting out pheromones, following worker ants then go out to find the food by following the pheromone scent.
Will they store the food in one location ? or will they only collect enough food to feed the colony..
How much do the different castes of ants need to eat per a day/week/month ?
I've seen ants carry big bugs to their entrance of their nests, what do they do when the nest entrance is too small, break the bug up or open the nest wider or either ?
