At what time of the day do they fly?

I found two dealate Lasius neonigers this morning. They must’ve flown yesterday after all the heavy rain.

I found a third one by digging up founding chambers. I’m too blessed to be stressed!

I found a fourth one wandering about early yesterday morning. These were all found on my school’s field where my students have recess, haha.

I’m sure there will be flights in our area tomorrow. Unfortunately I’ll be at work.

Last Friday a Crematogaster queen landed on my ear while I was reading a book outside. She’s in a test tube.

I found one under a flower pot while looking for centipedes for my Stigmatomma. I let her alone since I have 2 already.

I didn't catch anything. I don't have a black light with good wattage it's just a strong flash light. But it did have many insects coming and males where there as well. I may need to invest into a bigger black light. And for long should I have the blacklight up, I had it for an hour and a half should I have it longer.

I’m currently researching to create my own black light set up. I found this video to be very informative:

More ant specific black lighting information is abundant on the forum, so I’m excited to see what you come up with. :)

No need for a fancy setup, just get a blacklight bulb from Amazon and screw it in any lamp you have around the house.

Myrmica yesterday myrmecina and Ponera today. I found two myrmecina alates that were looking like they were about to take off but I found a male about 100 feet away so I put them together and one shedded her wings. I also found a Ponera alate. What do make Ponera's look like? The male with the myrmecina could be Ponera. Ant wiki didn't have any pictures.
