Y’all find queens like I find troubles.
I found a Camponotus pennsylvanicus (I think) dealate today in a cup of potting soil, so I'm guessing they flew yesterday/earlier this morning. Could've been a one-off. Also found a Camponotus chromaiodes alate last week with a dying male nearby. Anyone think the Camponotus flights are coming early this year? Or was I just way out of the loop last year?
Found what it seems like a camponotus chromaiodes queen today.
From now until Memorial Day, mostly.
Today or tomorrow may be the time for Camponotus.
I've been seeing a lot of male nylarandia outside my house.
Found a Nylanderia cf. faisonensis queen yesterday.

N. fasionensis has "dense cephalic pubescence" whereas vividula does not.
Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
