Crematogaster are flying right now!
Will they fly next few days or this is last time or something? I'm kind of new, sorry for dumb questions.
They will certainly be flying all through September. I've personally never seen one (cerasi) outside of September.

Yeah, that flight on 8/25 was unusually early I’d say.

Ugh I missed another crematogaster flight.
Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp. possibly infertile , Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!
Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen
Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

I’m surprised they flew because it rained like nuts an hour later. I doubt this was a major flight. My brother found none at our secret spot.Ugh I missed another crematogaster flight.
Was hoping for neonigers this afternoon, but they continue to elude me. They remain my white whale.

I saw some Non-parasitic lasius alates in a huge nest entrance.
Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp. possibly infertile , Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!

I found some brachyponera workers today.

Today, I came across multiple Crematogaster queens whose gasters had been eaten, probably by dragonflies.
I also saw a Lasius neoniger worker carrying an alate around.

I haven’t seen Lasius fly yet for the most part they cover my yard but they are preparing they nest holes now.
