Some popular types of wood used in vivariums for their hardness and resistance to decomposition are Ghost Wood, Manzanita, Malaysian Driftwood, and Mopane.

Looking at things, I believe the purchase of the plywoods to have been a mistake. The glue holding the things together will just melt in the moist environment I'm attempting to create for the ants.
