Not much to say, I just built a light into the bottom which shines up through the bottom of the formicarium creating that blue glow. Enjoy.

If you put an IR bulb you could warm the nest instead. Is the light source interchangeable?

That's pretty cool. I always had plans to add lights to a formicarium, but I would only want it coming from above, or I think it's not going to help too much with visibility. It would look cool, but won't help with visibility of the ants, especially if it's coming from behind them.
