Not much to say, I just built a light into the bottom which shines up through the bottom of the formicarium creating that blue glow. Enjoy. :yes:

spooky, I think a green glow would be better :)

Current ant colonies -
1) Opisthopsis Rufithorax (strobe ant), Melophorus sp2. black and orange, Pheidole species, Pheidole antipodum

If you put an IR bulb you could warm the nest instead. Is the light source interchangeable?

That's pretty cool. I always had plans to add lights to a formicarium, but I would only want it coming from above, or I think it's not going to help too much with visibility. It would look cool, but won't help with visibility of the ants, especially if it's coming from behind them.

Yes, it is.

If you made it a red light it would look like an ant night club :D

I accidentally froze all my ants
