Found near the top of enchanted rock, west of Austin. About 13mm long.
It's definately a Camponotus queen but I have no clue on the exact species.
Camponotus ocreatus? Maybe a little too small.

This looks just like those Camponotus cf. sansabeanus that me, Drew, and cpman have. cpman is also in Texas and he recently caught some of these too so I am sure this is Camponotus sansabeanus.
Edit: If I recall cpman's queens of this species are at the same stage as yours here so they are from around the same flight date too.

Here is cpman's as of the last update:
And here is mine and drew's:

Only 13 mm? Mine is 16 -- I've measured her multiple times...
Otherwise it looks the same. I don't think Enchanted Rock is so far away as to not have similar species to Austin.
My queen has mostly pupae now, so they are from a similar flight date. However, Enchanted Rock is far enough away that the flight wasn't the same day.
Reviving this thread. With it being 13mm, it is more likely C. semitestaceus than C. sansabeanus. Seen both of these firsthand now, and the queens of C. semitestaceus are around 13mm, whereas C. sansabeanus are larger.
EDIT: Enchanted Rock is one of the few places in Texas where it ain't flat.
