Agreed! I'm not a snake person, especially when they interrupt my anting with their startling movement!

The snakes we get up here are harmless. And this particular guy is friendly as a puppy.

Depending on where I am, I have to be worried about rattlesnakes. I had a really scary encounter with one a few summers ago.

Garter snakes are terrifying, no matter how harmless they are.

So I'm taking you either convinced your folks to let you keep a snake or someone's in for a nasty surprise if they looked under your bed.
