A nanitic eclosed today! And I finally got around to getting photos. Unfortunately, the nanitic is so small I couldn't get a good shot of it. I'll be getting a better macro lens soon.

 

I fed them a drop of honey and the queens gaster is really full again.

The nanitics died after a test tube change.    A few large larvae that should be ready to pupate soon. I hope the queen makes it.

I’m sorry to hear this. I would not recommend. Manually moving such a small species of ant. Just provide a new nest and allow them to move on there own. Once they move in keep the old one connected for another day or so to be on the safe side.

She now has 1 pupae, 1 large larvae, and a few eggs.

She finally has another worker. It's larger than the first ones. I'm just glad she was able to start over after the first nanitics died off.

Happy to hear her success after some endeavors. I think this species is pretty good at escaping. Be careful with their housing, they can slip through tiny openings.

No brood visible at the moment, but they are still acting and eating healthily.

Forgot to update this. The tube flooded a while back and they died, so this journal is discontinued for now. I'll revive it if I catch another one.
