Ok, so I was posting pictures wrong, so my old journal is just a how to post pictures.

So I caught this queen and put her in hibernation, and a few days ago she layed eggs! 2/11/18

Today she layed more eggs! 2/13/18

She has 22 eggs! (if I counted right)

Does anybody know what the average time for egg to worker is, she's had eggs for about 2 weeks now?

My Lasius niger (fairly similar to neoniger) took about 2 months to get her first workers, it seems the first batch always takes a bit longer. The eggs hatched after about 3 weeks.

We should respect all forms of consciousness. The body is just a vessel, a mere hull.

I will try to get some more photos but, nothing much has changed, her brood pile gets a tiny bit bit larger every day I’ve noticed! She does not mind me checking on her every day (I keep my queen on my ant desk with a towel on top of them) as I don’t really have to disturb her. I will update you guys whenever something exciting happens!

Barely anything has changed but she now has a few larvae, you can’t see them as she stuffed them in the cotton, but I saw her holding one! I can’t wait for her first nanitc!

Recently I put some orange sand in her test tube she did nothing until one day she moved some of it towards her.

SqejC54.jpg

I then checked up on her today and I saw a single pupae with orange sand around more larvae!!! I also see a few more spinning cocoons! Can't wait for nanitics! (The Pupae is by her gaster)

Formica is what I would chose. Why not keep both?
