Location: Just outside of Caspers Regional Park, Cleveland National Forest, Orange County, California.
Habitat: Along side a dirt road in an oak forest.
Coloration, hue and pattern: Queens: orangish red head and thorax, amber and black striped abdomen. Workers: orangish red head and thorax, amber abdomen.
Length: Queens: 5mm, Workers: 2.5mm.
Behavior: Polygyne
I captured four of these queens and a few workers while they were in the process of moving their nest.
