subterranean termites are flying again.
Edit: and drywood termites.
Are you going to catch a pair? You can culture them and feed them away like mealworms and dubias.
culturing subterranean termites is months/years of work.

Caught 14 queens in total Friday and Thursday, mostly camponotus.
I found 30+ queens that were all stepped on. I don't know if that counts though.
I wish that people would watch where they are stepping.
Vicinus queens keep ending up in my mom's house when I'm gone. It's amazing how once you stop with Pest Control services you'll start to see insects you'd never have thought could exist on your property.
I love Camponotus!

Does anyone know how well the flight patterns for the Bay Area match up with Santa Cruz? I haven't seen much activity at all over here, but maybe I'm not doing a good job of looking?

Anybody here know how long Camponotus workers live? I have a colony of Camponotus Laevigatus ants no more than a year and a half old. For the last few weeks, I have lost around five workers and I am not sure if it is from natural causes.

Can they die from vinegar or alcohol because I moved them into a formicarium I cleaned with that a while ago. I washed it out and let it sit for a day or two before I put them in though.
